  • Who is the Trump court judge?

Trump's historic trial is presided over by Judge Juan Merchan. He, who is of Colombian origin, has been investigating the case against Trump for about a decade and a half, and he has also conducted numerous legal proceedings against Trump's relatives.

In 2020, Merchan oversaw the criminal trial of two Trump companies, which ended with a jury convicting the real estate company of tax fraud and a $ million fine.

Meanwhile, Trump was not charged in this case and one of the former managers of the Trump Organization, Alan Weiselberg, pleaded guilty and took full responsibility for the crimes.

In response, Trump stated that the political motive caused the filing of this case.

Merchan also filed a lawsuit against Steve Benn, Trump's presidential adviser, accusing him of money laundering, conspiracy and fraud in connection with a non-profit organization. A charge denied by Bannon.

Trump has repeatedly criticized Mirchan before his trial, writing in a March 31 post on Truth Social that the case was filed to persecute people with opposing political views and that the appointed judge "hates me." (News text from Apk Times)
